Hello, gorgeous!

I hope you’re staying in a shady spot this week!  I thank my lucky stars that I’m not that woman holding the stop sign, at the road construction project! But I’m kind of mystified that every summer, we act like 100+ degree heat is a first time event!  Oh, well!

Goodwill meets Iron Orchid Designs!

It was love at first sight!  After a good bath, this 1960’s Coleman cooler has gotten all dressed up, thanks to scraps of I.O.D.’s design transfers, we had in our stash.  I sealed the finished master piece, with Fusion’s Tough Coat Matte Poly.  What do you have that could use a happy update?

Gone to a new home…

Marilyn’s daughter bought a new home, so being the generous parents they are, Marilyn and her husband gave her their living room furniture! Now, Marilyn has a room to re-furnish with things she loves!

As you can see, I started painting this antique buffet in Algonquin and then the new Fusion colors arrived and I quickly changed my mind!

I dare not count the hours I devoted to this beauty, but it was all worth it! On to the next project!

In the boutique…

We’ve replenished our linen pieces.  Linen is perfect for hot days.  Being that I hate ironing, I often just take it out of the dryer…maybe still a little damp and shake it, hang it and put it on crinkly.  That’s just me.  Some day I’ll tell you how I was chained to an ironing board, as a teenager! Haha!

We’ve also gotten jewelry in from several of our makers and probably have more of a selection than we’ve had in a long time! It’s always a great gift or a way to spruce up an outfit!

You’ll also find a great line of light-weight cotton tunics, that are cool as can be and look great over capris! OOOh, that rhymes!

In the workshop…

There’s still room in our Vintage Finial workshop, that Cheryl will be teaching this Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. ($59) Cheryl is always following estate sales and auctions and found just 12 of these beautiful finials.  Each weighs probably 3 pounds and will make a great addition to your home decor! We’ve restocked our 18k gold-filled jewelry stash!  This bracelet has been the top-seller.  I’ve been wearing it for the last few days and it’s super comfy to wear and so pretty!

I got back in the kayak this weekend…once…and I should do it every morning!  I don’t always do it, but I should, to counter the buttermilk waffles Mr. Wonderful loves to make!
