This Week, at the Shop November 27, 2017
Hello, Darlin’!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We sure did, but I have to tell you, it nearly wore me out! It had been some time since we hosted a family dinner and I had forgotten how much work goes into shopping, prep and clean up, for 17 +/-. No wonder they sell those “dinners in a box”, already to go…even though it does sound kind of marginal.
Well, don’t put away your pot holders just yet! Christmas is just around the corner! Kandy, one of our wonderful customers, loves to decorate cookies for every holiday and celebration under the sun!
I talked her into teaching a cookie decorating class at the shop. It wasn’t hard to do, because she says cookie decorating is becoming a lost art and she doesn’t want that to happen! Do you decorate cookies? I don’t, but my mother did and we all loved them!
There are still a few spots left for Cookie Decorating Class. You’ll get Kandy’s favorite recipes and techniques, leaving with a half dozen of your personally decorated beauties! Sign up on line, for the class on December 9th, at 10 a.m. ($20) Just go to https://www.thetreasuredhome.com/classes.

Might you be in the market for a beautiful runner or two? Here’s the only rug out on the shop floor. It’s 6 feet long and hand-tied wool. Near perfect condition. $175.
There are three or four more runners, that I bought earlier this year, from an estate. I had them all cleaned and appraised at Sacramento Rug Works. I’ve priced them below appraised value. Selling rugs isn’t my niche, because I have no way to display them. I don’t want anyone stepping on these beautiful, clean rugs, so they stay in the back, rolled up, where no one can see them! Tough way to sell rugs!
The other rugs are in the red/blue/rose tones. If you’d like to see the rugs, just ask. If I get my act together, I’ll figure out a way to show them to you!

So, what’s on your wish list? Mr. Wonderful and I usually just exchange cards. If he was to go shopping, he’d have no idea where to start! So, for the first time, we’ve started a Wish Book, so your sweetheart or kids have a fighting chance, when they come into the shop!
