What’s New at The Treasured Home September 22, 2015

Even though it doesn’t feel much like fall, I’m hoping that if I bring in some beautiful, cozy goodies, for my friends, cool weather will come.

Jill milk painted some surf board stripes on this vintage ironing board.  I think it will make a cool sofa table, or even a breakfast bar, in a kitchen.  (The child’s ironing board, sitting on it, has been repurposed as a coat hook…for a laundry room?)

Last call, for Thursday night’s Fabric Stenciling class, from 6:30-8:30.  Wine, women and paint! Oh my! Sign up at www.thetreasuredhome.com/classes or call the shop, at 916/514-5272.

(You’ll have several stencils to choose from.)

Diane, who helps out on Wednesday, returns, after a week in Hawaii.  Lucky girl!

I love the new sconces, added above the fireplace mantel.  So pretty, next to the rustic, European shutters!

As you can see, we still have several spots, for vendors.  The space pictured above the map, is the most expensive, because of all the great built-ins.  It sits there all pretty, center stage.

I’ve been very selective about the vendors added to the shop.  My goal is for there to be a very cohesive look, to the inventory.  It’s not that my eclectic style is the right style, but it’s what people expect, when they shop here.  I look for things that I would put in my own home and vendors with an asthetic that compliments my own.  I think we all agree that we love affordable, unique, quality pieces in our homes.  A home that looks and feels fabulous, without spending a fortune.  That’s it, in a nut shell.

If you think you fit our design asthetic and mission, let’s talk!

If you’re a vintage lampp lover, I found the blue and white china birdhouse lamp and the green and cream china lamp, over the weekend.  Either would be perfect on a kitchen counter, or desk.  A-dor-a-ble!

Stacey, our vintage jewelry design maestro, will be meeting with any of you, interested in re-styling vintage jewelry pieces you may have collected from family, over the years, at our Vintage Holiday Market, Sunday, November 1st.  Wouldn’t a re-styled family heirloom, make a wonderful gift?

Last of all, say hello to my new girl friend.  I’m talking about that sweet vintage, glass-topped table!  Don’t you love her?

Well, darling, that’s it for now.  I hope the sun shines softly on your shoulders, today!

So wonderful to see more of your store and all the pretties it holds. Someday I hope to get all the way out to your part of the country and take it all in. Thank you so much for sharing.

I took your milk painting class last Sat with my friend Aldene Frye. We both enjoyed it very much. I plan to come back for supplies to paint my antique chest of drawers. Can’t wait to get started. The store is wonderful with many items I’d recommend to family and friends. Thank you ! Lonette Fox

I hope you don’t add any more clothing or jewelry to your shop. I really like the classes, the great paint selection, helpful staff, and home decor the best. I’m just afraid the fashion will edge out the things I love the most.
