Hello there!

You may have heard that we had our first two-day workshop, last weekend.

Months ago, I invited Lynne Brundage, from Ellen J. Goods, to teach a weekend workshop, at The Treasured Home.  I met Lynne at the Iron Orchid Designs training workshop, in Folsom and have seen her creativity online.  She said “yes” to the workshop and the planning began!

We tackled three projects with joy and it wouldn’t have happened without our amazing team of women!  Tregae, Darlene (not pictured), Michelle and Susan were on hand to help and made everything go smoothly.

All fifteen women finished three projects in two days.  There was lots of layering, stamping, decoupage and paint!

You probably thought I already knew everything, but I learned a lot of new techniques I’ll be introducing in future classes!  In the photo above, we blended I.O.D. Inks, to create different shades of blues, greens and grays.

Everyone learned how to age and texture metal, with Fusion Mineral Paint and Fusion’s Fresco powder.

Lynne showed everyone how to take an old, outdated picture and update it with our decoupage papers and image transfers.  She repeats that it’s all about the layering! She demonstrated how to apply decoupage paper, before everyone made their own decoupaged coat racks.

The icing on the cake was to have the “Sisters”, Sally and Josie, the founders of Iron Orchid Designs, stop by, for a surprise “meet and greet” on Sunday afternoon.

In hindsight, Lynne and I both agreed that we tried to squeeze a bit too much, in a limited period of time.  Saturday was relaxed, where as Sunday was more rushed than I would have liked.  Thankfully, no one complained!
