This Week at the Shop! March 25, 2019
Greetings, sugar plum!
I hope that the universe is being kind to you, since we last talked!
I dodged a bullet this weekend, as a cold was trying to take over my world. It sucked energy from me, but I never turned into a Kleenex- box- hugging-snot nose! Too much information? Believe me, I thanked my lucky stars!
So, I laid low Sunday and Monday. Micah, our grand dog, kept us company! He’s a good nurse! We love him dearly!
Thankfully, I’m feeling much better! I even had a chance yesterday, to try out one of Iron Orchid Design’s paintable transfers!
Paintable transfers are in stock at the shop and I’ll be posting a video of the process soon, or you can learn from the masters of IOD, on You Tube! I watched their video a number of times, before making my own water color!
What in the world did we do before videos, cell phones and GPS? It’s a wonder I didn’t lose my way a long time ago! Anyway, I see a class, doing this in the future! While it may remind you a bit of paint-by-numbers, it’s about as challenging, but the results are so much better!
I’ve seen people creating all sorts of things with these transfers. Stay tuned!
Now, where was I? This Saturday, is our next Paint Your Own Piece class, from 1:00 until about 3:30!
I don’t know how many people have taken our Paint Your Own Piece workshop over the last six-plus years, but this is consistently our tried and true, most popular class!
The women pictured above were delightful! They took our last “PYOP” class. (We host this class about every 6 weeks)
Believe it or not, they left the following sweet comments on Facebook, after class! (No money exchanged hands, even!)
I hope you’ll join us, if you can!

A new adventure awaits!
Next Monday, three of us scavengers will board a plane, for Austin, Texas. There, Pat, her friend and I, will pick up our 20-foot Uhal and 9 foot van and head to Roundtop, Texas!
This little tiny town, in the middle-of-nowhere, explodes, twice a year, in the spring and fall. Folks come from around the world, to buy and sell!
I’ve only been once…without a truck! Sheer torture! So, we’ll see how this goes. Even if we don’t buy a thing, it will be a memorable experience!
Our home-away-from-home, near Round Top!
Maybe I’ll bring home a cow!
We’ll be gone a week and Jill, Tregae and girls will hold down the fort!
In the mean time, I need to make room! I’m hoping to “buy big” in Texas, rather than spending a fortune shipping from France, when I visit there, in May, with my shop friends!
Stay tuned, as I lower prices on n some pieces in the shop, looking for a new home!
