Never a Dull Moment, at The Treasured Home! January 30, 2019
Hello friends!
They said it would never happen! Bob, AKA Mr. Wonderful, was a bachelor until we met, when he was a youthful 55 years old. His family was pretty sure he would never marry and settle down! I had failed miserably in my first marriage and was doubtful I was good marriage material. Divorce can take the wind out of your sales, I found.
But, lo and behold, we did it! Celebrating our twentieth anniversary last week, we now have acclaimed we are in a successful relationship!
So, to celebrate last week, we dusted off our skis and took a few days off! The weather celebrated right along with us. Praise our lucky stars!
After a couple of days back at the shop, fluffing and sprucing, I headed off to market in Las Vegas, for a shopping extravaganza!
It’s strange to be shopping for Christmas decor and fall clothing in January, but that’s what you do!
I so wish I had taken pictures of the Christmas decor. It makes me actually look forward to my eighth holiday season! Wow! One of my favorite finds, were clip on tree candles, with battery operated flames. There are 12 wireless candles in a box and the remote control turns everything on and off. So cool!
I am a blue and white nut and finally took the plunge, ordering a small selection of blue and white porcelain, from China. Hopefully, there are others in my tribe, with similar design favorites!
Another favorite stop, that caught my eye, was a company that imports all sorts of colorful raffia bags, that I think/hope will be a big hit this spring!
Meanwhile, back at the shop, Jill was putting the finishing touches on this vintage beauty, that should be for sale today or tomorrow. It’s the first piece we’ve painted in Fusion Mineral Paint’s Coal Black.
To update this traditional piece, Jill cleaned the hardware in TSP and then handpainted it in more Coal Black, followed by black wax!
Friday’s blog post will share more behind the scenes project prep advice.
Last, but not least, is our Angel Heart Class, this Saturday, February 3rd, at 1 p.m. We have just 3 spots left. You’ll paint, stamp and mold, using Iron Orchid Design products. Please call the shop, to register, over the phone, if you can make it.
Call 916/514-5272 $29.00 per person and just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Well, that’s all for now. Stop by soon and say hi! There’s always something new arriving!
Happy trails!
