We’ll be celebrating Labor Day with you, this weekend and the shop will be closed, Sunday, Sept. 2 and Monday, Sept. 3.

Maker Day Wrap-up…

I’m so happy with how last Saturday’s Maker Day workshop turned out! It took a lot of planning, organization and a true team effort and was worth it!

The day began with coffee, muffins and conversation, as everyone arrived, ready to create.  The tray class was our first project of the day, followed by decoupaged stone tile coasters, taught by Linda, that everyone enjoyed.

Time for lunch…

We served quiche, grapes, and a wonderful marinated tomato salad, that Cheryl created!  Darlene brought roasted rosemary cashews, that she discovered at a baby shower.  They were a big hit.  I will definitely be making more of these!  Seriously delicious!

After lunch…

Have you seen decorative stacks of books?  We started with a stack of 3 books that Cheryl prepped with a first coat of paint.  Students added a second coat of Fusion’s Cashmere paint, followed by Iron Orchid Designs’ transfers, raffia and a feather, for good measure!

I love how Kirsten’s books turned out!

Lastly…

We taught everyone the secret to successful fabric stamping.  We must have been getting tired, because I can’t find a photo!

We’re hoping to do more workshops like this in the new year, so stay tuned.  Thanks again to our amazing team!
