Flea Fever April 4, 2012
Is there a season for flea market shopping? I have no idea, but the more I hang out with you guys, the more I can’t get enough of them.
I’m slowly discovering more and more flea markets in Northern California. There’s our very own antiques fair/flea market, under the freeway here in Sacramento on the second Sunday of each month. Then there’s the Alameda antique fair, on the first Sunday of each month. Some call them and antique fairs, while others call them flea markets. I can’t tell the difference other than I guess there’s more junk at a flea market. Whatever you want to call them, I’m hooked!
Today in the mail, I received my copy of Flea Market Style, by Emily Chalmers and Ali Hanan.
I haven’t done a complete read on it, but it looks wonderful.
Early this morning I got today’s copy of the Brass Scale blog.
Jane did a great write up about the south’s Antique Trail!
You southerners are antique “rock stars”!
It’s a good thing I’m one of the shopkeepers at Veranda Antiques. At least it gives me an excuse to be out shopping for this stuff! Heaven knows, I have no more room here at the homestead for any old/new furniture!
Speaking of Veranda, I’ll be working there tomorrow from 10 to 5:30, so please stop on by if you can!
Cheers!,
Barbara
Hey, thanks for the mention! Finally getting around to posting some new sources and ideas…it’s been a while. Everyone here has gone West to Round Top, Texas. Yahoo scavengers, this is a big event and I have heard they are selling goods like mad. Great show.
Thanks for presenting this book…I used to live in north central Florida and there was certainly great antiquing there!
