Back in the Saddle April 27, 2012
Something crazy happened while I was away! The jeans hanging in my closet somehow got a little bit smaller! Or, was I eating just a little bit more? The last night in our hotel we celebrated our goodbyes, while enjoying yet another feast.
I’ve never had asparagus served as an appetizer with an egg, but it was actually pretty tasty.
The second course included ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach. I was only going to eat one, but somehow the second one disappeared as well!
The ravioli was followed by pork fillets and pan roasted potatoes. I don’t know how I found room for dessert, but somehow I managed.
The next morning, we left the hotel in the dark, boarded our chartered bus and headed for the airport. Heading out, on our way to Frankfurt Germany, the view looking out our airplane window, over the Swiss Alps was pretty spectacular!
There is nothing even remotely luxurious about flying, over 20 hours in economy! I thought I was going to implode! Two toddlers nearby, were competing for loudest screams and someone else nearby had a deadly cough. The man snoring in my left ear was too close for comfort, but what the heck! After sitting inches from each other for this long, we all sort of became “family”!
We poured ourselves off the plane in Sacramento, to a wonderful sight! Mr. Wonderful and the mighty Wonder Dog, to the rescue!
Home Sweet Home! Thanks for taking this amazing journey with me! Now, back to the real world.
Until next time,
Barbara
And he brought you flowers. What a sweetie! I must tell you how thoroughly I enjoyed touring Italy with you and living vicariously through you. Sometimes I almost felt like I was there and there’s no mistaking SC for Italy. You were a wonderful tour guide. Thank you.

It’s a requirement to gain a few pounds when visiting Italy. The food looks amazing. So happy you are home and you shared your wonderful adventures with us. Thank you!
So glad you had a great time and made it home safe and sound! I’m sure that was a welcome sight seeing your hubby and your precious dog! I certainly enjoyed touring with you via blogland!

What a lovely picture of the two of you…oops, I mean three of you!
What a lovely welcome home Barbara! Your last evening out looked fabulous, a great way to end what must have been a trip of a lifetime!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Isn’t “The Loft at Jack’s Barn” beautiful? It’s located in Warren County, NJ and has just been introduced as “t.h.e. p.l.a.c.e.” for fabulous events (parties, weddings, etc.). My partners and I have worked very hard to launch this amazing venue of 9000 square feet of incredible charm. Downstairs is a gorgeous antique shop, filled with beautiful furniture and one-of-a-kind pieces. If you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods, I’d love to give you a tour of this gorgeous, historic place.
Wonderful blog! Your home is lovely…
Wishing you a wonderful week~
Lisa
