The Milk Paint Adventure Continues! February 3, 2014

Well, this is a first. In just a few minutes, I’ll be landing in Lost Wages, for the second time in a week!

This would be really cool, if I was a gambler, Celine Dion’s Nanny, or a pimp. Alas, I am none of these.

I am excited to be attending retailer training, for Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, over the next two days.

I’m really looking forward to meet some of the other brave souls, who have chosen to follow their creative spirit, and show others how to re-purpose the forgotten, neglected often abused vintage and antique furniture pieces.

As a college drop-out, even back in 1974, the only thing I was qualified for, if I didn’t want to be flat broke, was sales. Fortunately, I’ve always loved it!

A key component of sales success is of course, product knowledge. I love learning the in’s and out’s of a product.

I just got so excited recently, working with hemp oil, as a resist, for the white wash (Grain Sack), painted over the black, (Typewriter).

By ‘resist’, I mean using a medium, that makes the following coat of paint, ‘resist’ sticking to the surface.

Fast Forward 2 Days… We gathered together in Las Vegas, for an information packed workshop.

Knowing all that I’ve learned, through trial and error and by sucking up any morsels of information, along the way, over the last year and a half, it’s wonderful to have received this intensive training!

Abbe Doll, is the national educator, for Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint.

She is in fact a true artist and a skilled instructor! Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint is so lucky to have her!!

FYI: Our first-ever, Sign Making Class, using MMS Milk Paint, is this Saturday, from 10:30-2 p.m. Bring a friend and you’l
l each receive $20 off the price of your class and all students receive a light lunch and 10% off all paint supplies on the day of the class.

Come hear about all I learned in Las Vegas!!

OH, wish I could make it. I’m anxious to try the Hemp Oil and hadn’t thought of it as a resist! Hope all is well.

I was just reading Miss Mustard Seed’s blog, and she mentioned a skype call with some retailers who were receiving training on her paint line in Las Vegas, and how her sons entertained everyone with a little potty humor. Maybe you got to see the Mustard Seed Sons being naughty? 🙂
