Choosing Upholstery Fabric June 9, 2011
Well, I did it! I chose new upholstery fabric, for the chair I just sanded and stained.
While I was considering a more traditional fabric…
I decided to take a more “daring” approach, with an ultra-suede animal print, what many people call a new “neutral”.
Now, I’ve heard that every room should have one surprise, so hopefully this will be a good surprise!
There was a lot to consider, while walking the aisles at Sal Beressi Fabrics Co., on Bryant Street, in San Francisco. The family room, where the chair is destined, is filled with natural fibers, corduroy, leather, wood, stone and a wonderful Persian rug, that really steals the show. I didn’t want to choose a fabric to compete with the carpet.
Instead, I hope we’ll end up with a chair that complements the rest of the room’s decor. I’ve got my fingers crossed!
Those look great! It’s always so hard to choose upholstery fabric. I spend hours looking at sites and never manage to make a choice because there are so many good patterns!
I love looking at the on-line fabric sites, but I have a hard time buying fabric I can’t see in person and touch.
oh, I think you made a great choice! can’t wait to see the chair in its new fabric!!

Hello Barbara, your choice of selection is really good. I liked the way you mix fabric patterns with furniture. Though all designs are normal, but the mixture have generated a good look. Earned experience works really well when you have some place to use it or show you talent. I’m also working hard to make some good combinations with fabrics.
