New at the Treasured Home January 10, 2013
Hello there!
I thought I had better check in before you forgot all about me and Mr. Wonderful!
I’m getting ready for two painting classes this Saturday. Since one of them will be covering milk paint, I thought it would be nice to show all of the colors, well at least eight of them, in the Miss Mustard Seed line.
I’ve also brought in some painting essentials, every furniture painter should have on hand. Thank goodness I finally found a resource for the round waxing brushes! They arrive tomorrow, and I can’t wait! I will be selling those online so keep your eyes out for them. I’m going to price them right, so be sure and check in with me soon.
I thought that this could be a future class project. It would give people a chance to paint, wax and use the new glacage product. What do you think?
Since I last gave you a tour, I have added a bunch of silverplate flatware.
And a nice old mirror… Two side chairs that need their seats upholstered, and did I show you this beautiful lamp?
I’ve added this old, decoupaged shirt form and painted this frame in a color called Spanish Moss.
I completed a couple of small milk paint projects including this primitive coat rack, in a color called French Enamel…
French Enamel and Luckett’s Green, are probably my favorites.
I love these beautiful bottles. And don’t overlook my chalk board silver tray!
Yes, the “half man – half plant stand” is still here!
As much as I had hoped to avoid it, I’m getting a real, live accounting system. Should I tell anyone that I dropped out of accounting 1A twice? Fortunately, it’s one of Mr. Wonderful’s strengths.
Before I bore you to death, I must show you this beautiful old frame. I wonder what was on its canvas, way back when.
Oops. I almost forgot to show you my birdies.
I don’t know if these hearts qualify for Valentine’s Day.
Well, now I am really finished! Stay happy and healthy and be sure to pick up a paint brush and paint something!
I love the shutter display for the paint colors. You have been VERY busy. Just amazing how much you have done. Just keep rolling along. It does look like you are having a terrific time. Have fun Saturday…
Thanks, Jane! If you see a couple more shutters, by the side of the road, I could use them for the last two colors! Ha!
I love all of the beautiful things you have added to your shop, Barbara. I am having my surgery this week, but after I have a chance to recover I would love to talk to you about that giveaway we discussed. Have a wonderful weekend.
Laura
Blessings to you for a speedy recovery, or at least patience through it all! Take care!,

Hello, Karena! Great to hear from you! You always have such sweet thoughts! In our next life, maybe there will be speedier travel options, like on Star Trek! Ha!
Hugs,
Barbara
Barbara, I love everything in your shop and just wish it was closer to me. Could you possibly send me a list of the milk paint colors? I’ve got several projects I want to work on and I think milk paint will be the perfect solution.
Hugs, Gretchen
