My Easter Centerpiece April 1, 2012
Greetings!
With Easter coming up this next Sunday, I wanted to update our table centerpiece. And since I just received my new blue-and-white porcelain piece from The Enchanted Home new online shop, I was extra happy with a little “retail rush” going on!
So let’s get started! If you want to plant two, 3 inch orchids, I recommend you start with a pot, basket or a container that’s at least 3 to 4 inches deep.
Get your 3 inch pots of orchids at a place like Home Depot or your local floral wholesaler. You’ll also need a filler such as Styrofoam popcorn and some moss.
This is my new porcelain pot from Tina’s online shop at the Enchanted Home. Isn’t she cute? Set the two pots of orchids in the container you’re going to use and surround them with the Styrofoam popcorn.
Now all you have to do is add a layer of moss, covering the Styrofoam popcorn and you are all done! Now what did that take? Maybe all of five minutes? Pretty cool, huh? Oh, by the way, be sure to remove those silly little plastic butterfly clips they use to attach the orchid to the support sticks. In most cases you don’t even need the support sticks, but if you do, use a twisty tie instead of the clip, wrapped with some moss, and it looks a whole lot more special.
Then you can save those beautiful plastic butterfly clips for some exotic hairstyles.
Good heavens! Its time to visit the plastic surgeon, or prepare better for these fancy photo shoots! Anyway, there you have it! A beautiful centerpiece, all for about $20, plus the container, which you probably already have on hand.

Looks great! How do you do it all?
Love your new pot. I will have to run over to see Tina and see what trouble I can get into! You look darling with your butterfly clips but why do you even have butterfly clips in your stash????
Hi Diana,
Those little butterfly clips come free of charge with the Home Depot orchids, to keep them upright and attached to the stakes! Just being goofy!
You know, I can’t pass up the opportunity to be silly! Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful!!…looks so wonderful in the cache pot…will have to hop over to the Etsy shop
Very pretty. That pot is stunning, especially wtih the orchids. And you are stunning too, even with funky butterfly clips in your hair!
Barbara,
Thank you for the tutorial on potting the orchids. I adore your new porcelain pot and the orchids only add to its beauty. I also love your new hairclips and your sense of humor.
