Spring is one week away and I’m growing gills! March 13, 2023

Hello, dear heart!

At this point, I’m so thankful for every gorgeous ray of sunshine! How about you? Do I even need to ask?  One thing’s for sure, our lakes and reservoirs will be full, this spring.  I just wish there were a few more reservoirs, to contain more of this beautiful rain water!

This is our igloo house, at Lake Tahoe, before some wonderful men started to remove lots of snow from the roof, this past week!

Bob sent me this photo and I couldn’t figure out where it was taken.  Then he told me that it was taken outside our upstairs windows! We had a heavy snowfall in 2017, but this far exceeds that year. Ready or not, we hear that the next storm is bringing another four feet of snow!  Holy smokes!

Back at the ranch…

We’ve designed a new look for our house-made soy candles and added new diffusers, to match the candle scents!  Woo-hoo!  “Coco Chanel” and I worked on the look together and we think they’re beautiful! They smell even better and make wonderful gifts!

Here are two new table runners, at the shop.  They’re both six feet long and I like to  run them across the table, instead of down the length of the table.  I love the texture!

Have you priced lamps, lately?

Well, buckle your seat belts, because prices for lamps are crazy! (What else is new, right? I was telling the shop sisters about my $3.49 head of cabbage, I got at the grocery store last week!  Cabbage used to be practically free!) Anyway, back to lamps, I love to find functional, interesting lamp bases at thrift stores and paint them!

I used Fusion Mineral Paint’s Oakham, on this lamp, from G.W. The lamp was about $7, the shade $3.29 and I used way less than a sample pot of paint.  I’ve painted porcelain, brass, you name it! It’s a fun, fast fix, for a outdated lamp!

Need a new entry table?

Linda gave this table a “new do”, using Fusion’s Raw Silk and one of my favorite Iron Orchid Designs decor transfers.

So very pretty! Great job, Linda!

Can we take a stroll down memory lane?  Bob found an old digital camera, around the house,  the other day.  He plugged the little “card” into the computer and found this wonderful picture of my dad and him on our back patio, 15-plus years ago. My dad was my toughest critic and greatest admirer and I still miss him!

Looking for a great book? Well, here you go! It takes place in India and I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure!

Saving the best for last…

Bob and I leave for Virginia in the morning, for just 5 days.  Our grandson, James has been asking for me, I hear! ???? I can’t wait to hold him!

Until we meet again, hold onto someone you love!

XO, Barbara

Greetings Barb from sunny south Texas. – we’re loving the moderate heat. The wedding in San Diego was quite the affair but also quite chilly for San Diego this time of year. Thanks for posting all the pictures of the Tahoe house, Bob, Dad and baby. – Excited for you and all the girls traveling to Paris next month. – wish I was going but maybe next time.
