Hello, again!

99 degrees, today, in Fair Oaks!  Summer has officially arrived! I just need to remind myself of those grey, dismal days of January, to remind me how much I love warm, sunny days! Thank goodness for A/C!

We had a wonderful turnout for our Customer Appreciation Day! We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!

Tregae’s Charcuterie Demonstration was a big hit!  Thank you Tregae, for all of the wonderful tips and tricks, you shared!

Charcuterie is a wonderful way to feed a lot of friends, with a dramatic presentation, that can be prepared in advanced and assembled at the last minute before guests arrive.

Think about color, sweet and savory bites, texture, greenery and creating a artful presentation that makes your friends and family feel special!

Of course, we carry boards in all shapes and sizes, along with serving papers and soon to arrive are boxed serving pieces.  Great gifts for weddings, showers…you name it!

While the Shop Sisters were all on board, wearing their favorite pieces, from the boutique, we had a rare chance for a group photo.  When I say there’d be no shop, without these wonderful women, I mean it from the bottom of my heart! The very best!

Candles make such wonderful gifts! You my know that we’ve been making our own candles, although inconsistently, over the years.  You all love  our Blue Spruce scent, for the holidays.  Now, we plan to upgrade our packaging, labeling and add new scents.

This beautiful sapphire blue glass container should make a beautiful presentation, for our all-natural soy candles.  Fun fact: Our soy wax comes from soy bean crops, grown right here in the United States!  We’ll be rolling out this new line within the coming month!

African Mud Cloths are back in stock.  They are hand made, in a multi-step process and the practice has been around since the 12th century. Even I wasn’t born then!!

I’ve used mud cloth as a table cloth, a throw blanket, to cover cushions and to make pillows.  The color, texture and natural hand-made process, makes these fabrics popular with design enthusiasts around the world.

Today, we received two clothing deliveries. 🙂

Linda is modeling one of the new pieces, from our favorite new line!  We also received a new bamboo line today.  Bamboo is breathable and wears well in hot weather.  Both are great options for Sacramento summers and travel!

Demo Day and New Iron Orchid Designs!

Today, Linda, who’s never stamped much, stamped this linen pillow cover from IKEA, with the new leopard print stamp.  Love it!

Over the weekend, I played with the new Village Market mould, using paper clay.  Always fun!

1-2:00 p.m. – Fusion Mineral Paint:  I found a great little side table last week and it will be a perfect piece to demonstrate Fusion Mineral Paint on! In this one-hour free demo, I’ll take you from how to find a piece to paint, all the way to applying a wax or top coat and smiling with success!

Finally, a little humor, before we say good bye.  Our daughter, Betsy, just got a wonderful post, back at West Point, where she went to school. She had no idea that bears saunter in from the forest, behind their housing, to look for extra grub!  Apparently, the housing folks haven’t heard about bear boxes, to contain garbage.  Having been exposed to bears at Lake Tahoe, she isn’t a fan! She may be sleeping with a gun under her pillow, at night!
