So, It’s Been a While! May 11, 2014
Greetings!,
Did you miss me? No, you don’t have to answer that!
Anyway, just at the moment, when I was going to slit my technologically impaired wrists, I think I’ve discovered an app for my Ipad that may just save me from the brink of disaster!
I hope your Mother’s Day, was in fact your day! With no children in the area, and my mom up in heaven, it was just Mr. Wonderful and me this morning. Per my request, I got to sleep in, until 7:28!
After Mr. W’s low-cal buttermilk waffles, slathered in butter and syrup…and a quick shower, we headed to the Sacramento Antique Fair, which happens on the 2nd Sunday, on Front Street. If you haven’t been, you should visit it…at least once.
I found this beautiful goose, just waiting for me! She was carved from a telephone pole, believe it or not! Being Mother’s Day and all, I don’t think she’ll make it to the shop any time soon!
Speaking of the shop, it’s so nice to have the extra space! There’s almost room to dance! I now have room for this very cool poker table, that my neighbors Eddie and Bill Richmond, had no use for. The wood was much lighter and the table needed to be refelted. The really cool thing is that it folds up, to be easily stored! Thanks to General Finishes’ Gel Stain, in “Java”, we matched the chairs and table perfectyly! Thanks to Patti and Diane, on this project!
I love pretty chairs! This one was two steps from the land fill, but we saved the old girl!
Mr. Wonderful glued and strapped the poor thing back into shape, so we could paint her. Usually sanding isn’t needed with Amy Howard’s One-Step paint, but this one needed some of the dents and scratches smoothed out, in a big way.
On this chair, we used a new color, called Graphite. It’s the darker color, used on the chair. The lighter color is Selznick Grey. Finished with some light and dark wax, after a bit of distressing, and a new seat pad and cover and she’s all set!
The class calendar, for May and June is on-line now! We had a great group on Saturday. Two of the students brought their dear husbands, which made it extra special!
Well, that’s it for now! Thanks for being here and stop on by, when you’re int the neighborhood!
Continued blessings to you and yours!
Well, it is good to hear from you! I can see why you aren’t selling that goose…it’s gorgeous! Store and merchandise looks wonderful….I’ve got to make it out there! 😉
Welcome back!…I love the goose…and really???…it is made out of a telephone pole???…amazing…and beautiful!
