Hello, beautiful!

Isn’t this a lovely piece of furniture, painted with Fusion Mineral Paint?  It’s not my work, but found it on Fusion’s site and wanted to share.  I’ve gotten a paint brush back in my hands lately and it feels good.  This week, I’m planning to “master” Iron Orchid Designs’ paint inlays, on the front of a small oak dresser.  Once I feel reasonably qualified, I plan to share my technique with you.  It’s a beautiful product, but requires a little more time and effort than their other products.  Stay tuned!

While we were at market…

For the first time, I attended the Home and Gift show with a shopping partner and I found it really helpful. Cheryl, who’s our Tech-Guru, among many talents, joined me on my quick trip to Las Vegas, Sunday and Monday.  I wanted to focus on ordering Holiday for 2023…just 11 months away!  Pre-ordering allows us to get better pricing and availability and with costs going up, every little bit helps.

While I didn’t take as many pictures as I could have, let’s just say we’re going to have a “white Christmas” this year! Beautiful white feathered owls, fluffy white penguins, brass bell garlands, snow men and a large white deer, that looks up at you like Micha, our dog looks up at me, when he’s hoping for a treat! Of course, we’ll have gnomes, garland and ornaments this year, along with other surprises.

I did have a chance to photograph gorgeous decorated trees, in one of the showrooms.  Totally over-the-top amazing! Take a look!

Not what we’d typically do in our own homes, but really fun!

As you can imagine, the product selections can be a lot to take in. I have my usual shopping favorites, but I’m always happy to make new discoveries!

Green Envy, a wonderful nursery in Tahoe City, has carried this line for a few years and I’ve wanted to carry them at the shop.  These hanging what-you-call-its, are made of drift wood, sea glass and rock.  Very organic and not your usual mass produced home decor product.

I couldn’t resist these rolling back packs, for toddlers!

I have no photos to share, but wait until you see these new jacket length kimonos!  Seriously stunning, they should be arriving in the next few weeks.

Last of all…

I follow a blogger, who is a beautiful, inspiring writer.  Today, she wrote about how mosts of us have a habit of mentally pushing our own gifts and talents to the side….not giving them the acknowledgement they deserve.  In a world of Instagram, with staged photos and videos, it’s easy to compare ourselves and wish we were more like them.
