This and That, from Kauai! November 14, 2019
Greetings, from afar!
Mr. Wonderful’s Army buddy, Arvin and his wife Hiroko, generously invited us to use their newly remodeled condo, on the island of Kauai. The home is located on the sunnier, southern part of the island, at Poipu Beach!
At first, I wondered if I should leave the shop, this time of year. You know, things could totally fall apart in six days, without me! Then, thankfully, I remembered what wonderful shop sisters I have, in Jill, Tregae, Michelle and Pat!
By the time you read this, we’ll probably be back on a plane, to return home. What a wonderful get-away this has been though! Let me show you around!
We had never visited Kauai before and we’re thoroughly impressed! In the past, we visited a Hilton timeshare we had in Waikiki. We enjoyed the walkability and energy of the city, but after our last visit, I said no more!
I love people, but not crowds. I found myself bracing, as people coming my way, acted as if I wasn’t there. I was apparently the one who was expected to move. So when I say bracing myself, I mean I stopped moving. Hehehe!
So check this place out! Total perfection!
Wow! After parking right near the front door, we walked in to this beauty. There’s a bath and laundry on your left, as you enter and the kitchen and living space ahead. The kitchen is ready, with every pot, pan and wine glass you’ll ever need. I love the stone counters with the “waterfall” ends.
Then there’s a dining area, followed by the living room. Beautifully furnished. I really loved the white wood floors and wall color!
I wish I had better lighting for this photo, but you get the idea. Yes, that’s the ocean, with a walking trail, right across the street!
I loved going to sleep at night, with the doors open upstairs, hearing the waves crashing.
Hiroko applied the sponged blue wall in the master bath, with subtle shades a blue and a hînt of glitter. Really pretty!
(If you’d like information about renting this slice of heaven, just do a google search for kapili59.)
One of our favorite adventures was to a park reserve at the top of the island. Breathtaking views! Birds soaring in the canyon…waterfalls, untouched beauty!
A brochure I read called it the Grand Canyon of the islands.
Back at the shop, I brought in a handful of cashmere ponchos. They’re $94 and a very nice weight of cashmere.
We added one last Holiday Paint & Sip class, on Friday night, December 13, from 6-8:30 p.m. We need at least 8 people to sign up. ($36.95). The canvas is pre-sketched and Susanne is a wonderful teacher! Sign up at pre-registration. It’s always a fun event and the finished paintings are impressive!
I need you to do me a favor. Have you joined our Text Club yet? I promise not to send more than one text a week. Club members will get special offers, reminders about sales and events. You’ll be in the know! For instance, you’ll hear about our small business Saturday sale details, before anyone else! You’ll also get $5 off your next purchase of $25 or more and a bracelet on your birthday! What’s not to like?! Thanks so much for joining!
We’re so thankful for you and all of our amazing customers! 😘
Barbara is the Text Club for your business only? Or does phone number for texts go to other people/businesses/sellers? If this is only by anyone other source everyone needs to know that. Also I love Kauai and will follow up with the rental. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing!
You work so hard and I’m pleased to see that you are relaxing before the busy season starts.
Kind Regards,
Dorothy Tizi
