A Little Pick-Me-Up In The Bedroom May 2, 2012
Well, the title of this post may be a bit misleading! I’m talking about new bedding; simple changes in bedding, to change the look of an entire room.
For longer than usual, I’ve had this golden sateen spread on our bed, along with two different patterns of John Robshaw’s Euro shams.
This is the spread that Miss Kitty loved to sink her claws into. Now that she’s in “kitty heaven”, I’m bringing in a new summer spread, from HomeGoods.
Without the duvet covered comforter, or with…
I loved your winter-time with those beautiful pillows, but I also love the coverlet type spread you have on the bed for summer. I know what you mean about being hot. It was 88 degrees here today and I made Mr. Bird Nest turn down the air for tonight.

Adding a white spread really helps to brighten the room for summer. I always like the softness of a comforter at the foot of the bed even though it is usually just for looks. Stay Cool!
I say with. Just more of a finished look. Love the new spread. And I get nasty when I am hot, too.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi, Kim! The comforter’s winning, hands down!
Barbara lovely spread …great find!!
Ha! My comfort level only has about a 5 degree differential, then I am either hot or cold!

Hi Karena,
Of course, now it’s cooled off again and we may have showers tonight! You never know in May…but I’m prepared! 🙂
Best to you,
Barbara
Love the white coverlet and I’d keep the comforter at the bottom. Adds a nice plush feel. Always enjoy your posts! You seem so genuine.
Thanks for you nice comment, Gwen! That means a lot to me. I had a mid-western mom who was so down-to-earth! Sort of a “what you see is what you get” kind of a woman. Miss her!
LOOKS SO FRESH AND PRETTY.
I vote for leaving the comforter at the foot. I just bought the same coverlet for my bed. Got to love Home Goods!
Yes, I agree. Looks to much like a hospital bed, without it. Well, not quite, but you know what I mean! Thanks for stopping by!
