Three nights in Padova April 18, 2012
Good morning!,
I have about 10 minutes before our group takes off for a tour of central Padova. We’re staying in a wonderfully quirky art hotel, in town. The hotel is family-owned and the wife is a prolific artist. So there is art everywhere. I was just sitting in a chair that had been decoupaged, before moving to a quieter spot. The chair I’m sitting in now is equally special.
Later…
Well, let’s see, we just returned to the hotel, after a marathon 9 hour tour of Padova! I have information coming out of my ears! Can you see it? No? Actually, this picture was taken in the morning, after my new friend sold me a scarf! (Prior to the current point of exhaustion!)
This post is going out in bits and pieces. I hope you can make sense of it all. I have been into more churches in the past few days then my whole entire life combined. Well maybe not quite, but you get the idea.
But for now, let me show you around the hotel just a bit more.
This collage over our bed is really wild. I would love to try something like this when I get home!
Here are some more pictures from the town itself.
Of course we had to go shopping in a few boutiques! Here are couple of pictures…
Great jewelry display, using window screen attached to an old picture frame.
I found a great piece of jewelry, at this second hand, vintage clothing store.
Lots of pretties, in this home decor shop.
We’re off to Venice tomorrow morning, for just a day trip. I hope the weather “gods” are kind to us! The forecast calls for rain, again! But, as they say in Italy, “No problemo!”.
Sweet dreams!,
Barbara
The first time we went to Venice it was cold and raining and not much fun. I hope the weather breaks for you.
Oh what a wonderful trip this must be! I haven’t been to Padova but I will ad it to my must see list for Italy. Adorable little hotel, and boy do I know those feelings, marathon day trip, exhaustion, info overload, isn’t is a wonderful feeling! You make me want to call my airline! I am enjoying your trip with your Barbara.
