Hello, Gorgeous! The time has come!

I have been hunting and gathering, since we last exchanged stories at the shop! Just this weekend, I found this sweet picture of Lake Tahoe and a little gilded Italian box.

Last trip up the hill, I scored a few small vintage handmade wool Southwestern rugs.

This one was my favorite, but needed to get a good cleaning. Thanks to Sacramento Rug Works, it turned out pretty perfect.

I found a couple of its cousins at the same time.  Ralph Lauren would be proud!

You may recall that I visited both kids a week or so ago.  I found a darling non-profit thrift stores, near my son’s house, outside of Washington D.C.  

My big take-away was a large bag of baseballs. The sweet volunteers, were scratching their heads, wondering if I had lost my marbles! The TSA guys probably wondered the same thing! I love old baseballs, with dirt telling stories of good times had. I can see a ball sitting on a stack of old books on a shelf, or a trio, sharing a small bowl, on a coffee table tray!  Heck, for $2 each, you could actually play with them!

Back at home…

I’ve wanted a “down light” fixture above our kitchen table, for years. Since wall texture work needs to be done in this area, I figured this was a great time to finally add one.
I found one on Wayfair, for under $300, delivered. I checked with my buddy, Chat GPT, and he created a mock up photo, so I’d see what to expect, once installed. He gave me a “thumbs up”, so I ordered it and it just arrived. Stay tuned!

Isn’t that amazing?

This seems to be the summer of fixing things and getting rid of things! In particular, moths! Little tiny things.  I went through the pantry…again…looking for their food source. It turns out that they were having a banquet, eating the pile of the living room’s wool area rug. The pest guy said he’d never seen such a bad case. Sacramento Rug Works says it’s a common problem. They’ll be picking up all the wool area rugs in the house on Wednesday, to clean and treat them. The vacuum has become a close companion as I look for these guys. Once the rugs are out of the house, more cleaning and treating will continue. These fellas are not easy to get rid of!!

The shop is literally packed, with new and vintage inventory.

These double wick soy candles, in these pretty canisters are beautiful!

The latest issue of “My French Country Home” has also arrived, so be sure to grab one, as there are only 8 copies.

If you’re new here, I’m located in the same building as the former TTH shop, at 9910 Fair Oaks Blvd., in Fair Oaks.

I know many of you have told me you’ll be out of town, during our September market days. I may be able to schedule one afternoon the following week, for you folks. If ever you see something you want, I can always pack it up for you and leave it at Nikki’s, next door, at The Crafted Canvas, for pick up. She’s open 5 days a week and her shop/studio, is wonderful!
I’m thinking about taking this oil painting class there, later this month.
