Special holiday hours and more…! May 18, 2026

Hello, gorgeous!

How in the world are you?  My toupee is trying its best to stay on my head, with all this wind, but other than that, all’s well!

I don’t know who’s in charge of our holidays, but why is this weekend Memorial Day weekend, instead of the last weekend of the month, like it used to be…in the good ol’ days?!

But, I digress…again. Those cute little flags ($3.95) and patriotic t-shirts, just $12.95, are available, while open today, Tuesday, from 2-4.

You might think I sit around all day, while Mr.Wonderful peels grapes for me, but no, that’s not the case!
We’ve had this Belgian farm table from the 1800’s, for years. It’s one of, if not our favorite piece of furniture. Today, I oiled it with Tung oil, which is a wonderful moisture barrier.  They used it in ship building, hundreds of years ago.
In case you’re curious, I use pure tung oil on wood that hasn’t been sealed and apply it with a brush, to work it into the grain.  Then, after it sits on the surface for about 20 minutes, I wipe it off, with a shop towel. Keep in mind that tung oil can be flammable if rags aren’t treated properly.

In other big news…

I’m attempting to get back into oil painting and teaching oneself isn’t easy.  I’m learning about colors and mixing them. Certainly a trial and error process! I hear The Crafted Canvas is going to have an oil painting landscape series, this fall. Great news!

Bob and I are headed to Tahoe on Wednesday and I’m really looking forward to it.  Besides spring cleaning, it’s a great place to do crafty/painty things, go thrifting and get pizza at Dog and Bear in Tahoma!

We’re open today, from 2-4, in case you’re out and about!

I’ll be pricing more jewelry and if all goes well, I’ll check in with you, live, on Facebook.

Until we meet again, don’t forget…Jesus loves you! (Isn’t that a song?)

XO, Barbara
