Dallas Market Update! January 16, 2020
Hello beautiful!
This is a long one, so get your sweet tea or beverage of choice, sit back and set a spell! (Yes, I’ve been to Texas!)
I hope your new year is off to a good start! Just between you and me, January is probably my least favorite month of the year. It’s mainly the weather that gets to me. You know, cold, damp, grey skies. Boo hoo! Maybe I should count my blessings and think of the people shoveling snow in Michigan!
I’m also thankful that our Jill is slowly getting better. We hope she’ll be back at the shop around the first of February. If it wasn’t for Tregae, Michelle and Diane, I wouldn’t have been able to spend most of the week in Dallas, (where it’s also grey and damp!) at the Home & Gift Market and the Apparel Show.
This is was my first visit to Dallas, for Market. I decided to check it out, because the two markets are back to back. In Las Vegas, there’s a weeks break between the two.
After weighing all the pro’s and con’s, I think I’ll stick with Las Vegas. In the 7+ years I’ve been going there, it just keeps getting better and better!

Now before I say another thing, or share my attempts at photography, while here in Dallas, I want to invite you to take a class!
Our Paint Your Own Piece class will be Saturday, January 25th and our Cabinet Painting class is Sunday, January 26th.
Fusion Mineral Paint is zero VOC, with no odor. No matter what time of year, I always recommend you paint indoors. So hen it’s grey and mucky outdoors, you can be making something beautiful indoors!
Sign up Online to save your spot. For the Paint Your Own Piece class, bring a dining room chair, a small night stand, end table, etc. if you have any questions about what to bring, shoot me a picture, at barbara@thetreasuredhome.com.
Tons of people are painting their oak cabinets! In a couple of weekends, you’ll transform your kitchen! Seriously! And usually for less than $200! For the Cabinet painting class, we provide everything, including the cabinet doors.

Now let’s talk Shopping!
The first half of the week, I concentrated on home decor, gifts and Christmas decor. I wish I had more room (and more money!) because there are so many pretties to be had.
I love beautiful pottery! I ordered several pieces of this metallic line. I was surprised by the excellent pricing.
(There’s a big mid century modern trend happening now, in furniture and decor right now. I’m wondering how successful it will be. Designers are trying to pull people away from the modern Farmhouse look, which I still think is pretty popular!)
Everyone loves black and white and these throws are beautiful and well priced, too.
I ordered two different styles of corbels. They are wonderful on bookshelves, with old books!
I found a beautiful new source for Christmas decor! I’d like to bring you something besides more of the same corrugated metal, of past years. We’re going to get a little bit more “old world”. I think you’ll love it.
Yes, there’s nothing like shopping for the following holidays, in January!
I love these little cars, that light up! Have no fear though, I also found a new and improved line of gnomes! And because I bought a truck load of them (not really, but almost), I got a great price.
Now, let’s talk baby! I can’t resist this stuff!
Yes, animal print for baby, will arrive late March! So cute!
I bought Dylan for the first time. Casual quality, good looking and true to size. Again, this will be arriving mid-late March and May.
i got these darling white pull-on jeans, with a frayed cuff. They will be darling with a long black and white striped, light-weight cardigan and a black t-shirt, also coming in March…I think!
I found tons of fun watches and jewelry, of course!
Now, if I haven’t put you to sleep, I thank you for following along! I’m always looking for ways to stay in touch and let you know quickly, what’s going on. If you text, I invite you to join our Text Club! You’ll hear about special offers, and free make and take classes, etc.
You’ll also be invited to enter your birthday, for a free bracelet each year! It’s a win-win for both of us! So, thanks in advance!
Until our paths cross again, happy trails!
Wow at all pf the pretties! I really love those stuffed mouse dolls. Looks like a wonderful trip you had.
Thanks, Danice! Yes, the mouse dolls are pretty sweet! Thanks for your sweet note. It’s always good to come home!

Thanks, aren’t those angels pretty? I am not positive but I think there about 20 or 22 inches tall. They won’t be in until late August, but I look forward to decorating with them! Take care!
