Round Top, Texas, here we come! March 29, 2015
While many of you are still dreaming of something really wonderful, five of us will be taking off from the Sacramento airport, at 6 a.m., for Round Top’s bi-annual antique show!
To say I’m excited, is an understatement. It’s something that’s long been on my “bucket list” and now, at last, I get to go! Thankfully, a couple of women in the group, have been a number of times!
This little town, is just one square mile big and twice a year it explodes, with antique traders and devout followers.
I have no idea what to expect, but my eyes will probably be big as saucers as I take it all in!
Have you been?
Are you going to this show?
What was your favorite thing?
I’ll be posting lots of pictures on Facebook, so please join me!
Jill and Diane will be faithfully holding down the fort! Stopy by and see Jill’s new hair cut! 🙂
Oh my goodness – I’m officially jealous!
And I sure would like a chair just like the black one shown in the picture if you find one to bring back so I could buy it from you 🙂
Wouldn’t that be great? I don’t have furniture on my list, this trip. I’ll let you know what I find, though!
You won’t believe it. I have bought and sold at Round Top and yes, your head will explode. Enjoy a piece of pecan pie from Royer’s cafe and say hello to Janet Wiebe who brings in some of the best stuff! xoxo
Oh my! That’s what I figured. I’m expecting high prices and hope to be pleasantly surprised. Can’t wait! Hugs, Barbara
Oh, my! You are going to love, love, love it! I have not been but several of my friends go yearly. Have a blast and let us know what treasures you find!
Will do, Barbara. If nothing else, it will be a great adventure!
Cheers!, Barbara
I just got back Saturday night from three amazing days in Round Top.! We walked from 9-7 every day and probably only covered half. As a first timer, I was reluctant to buy big pieces and have to deal with shipping, but I filled two suitcases and shipped two large boxes home. My prized purchase…a Belgium book press from late 1800,s and primitive carved bowls. Have fun and take extra suitcases!!!!
I have friends who have filled trucks. I might be too old for that extreme sport, but maybe next time. I have extra bags, if needed and I hope to fill them!
I am jealous too. I have been wanting to go for years. Can’t wait to see the pictures.
Terrie, It’s something every antique lover should do at least once! I hope you can make it there soon.
Have fun Barbara!….One day I will make it there!!..Have a great weekend and Happy Easter!
Thanks, Shirley! I hope you can make it there soon. You’d have a blast!
